English Heritage is England’s government statutory adviser on the historic environment and the lead body for the heritage sector. They are responsible for the care and protection of hundreds of national and regional historic assets, places of worship and local heritage sites. English Heritage used Alterian Content Manager to improve the strength of its online marketing and combine it with its offline strategies to ensure even greater member insight.
With a database of over 700,000 members, English Heritage wanted to add functionality that could enable more personalized content, greater search facilities and better targeted marketing. Additionally, their website needed to grow as a sales point for ticket sales, accommodation and other products as well as improve their ability to serve specific academic research and other content to professional users.
