Havant Borough Council selected Alterian Content Manager to power their local authority site following a shortlisting process, finding that Content Manager was the only solution which met all their requirements and which would empower the council's staff to support and use the new solution. Prior to implementation, Havant were struggling with an unwieldy and out of date content management process, which often took days to process and get content online.
"Alterian Content Manager, provided a WYSIWYG interface that looked similar to the tools our staff were already used to using. In fact, when it came to usability, Content Manager was a long way ahead and we decided it was the best solution to our needs", commented Steve Mountain, Project Manager, Havant Borough Council.
Following the implementation, the Council received the “HantsWeb” award for best Public Sector website in Hampshire, beating competition from all local authorities, including Portsmouth and Southampton, NHS sites, Police and the Fire Brigade. This was swiftly followed by a positive rating in the annual SOCITM "Better Connected" survey.
